Ok on with the story of our week/end....
Shiza! We had quite a week in the Lightsey house. Ava had to make a trip to Dr. Acosta on Tuesday. She was sneezing, coughing, runny nose, and congested. She officially had/has her first cold. :( It sure is hard to see your baby feeling so awful and not be able to do anything about it. Daddy bought her a humidifier for her room asap and we offered lots of extra snuggles and love but beyond that we could do nothing. But in true Ava style, she really was probably the happiest sick baby I've ever seen. Other than the terrible nights and the Darth Vader breathing you wouldn't even know she was sick! But let me tell you about how on Friday the hours of 11 pm to 6 am were like a horror movie was being filmed in our house. I am not sure she actually ever slept during that span of time; just did a whole lot of screaming and crying. On top of the cold she got another giant bug bite on her face. Big, and red, and ouchy! Stupid squitos.
Onto happier news....... Also in Ava style, she continues to blow the milestones markers out of the water! On Friday, she pulled herself from her belly up on to her knees to peer into the ottoman that houses her toys. And on Saturday, she pulled herself to a standing position from a sitting position in her crib. Thank goodness Daddy lowered her crib mattress because this girl is on the go! She is so strong; she definitely has her Daddy's athleticism. I beginning to wonder if this kid inherited anything from me besides her full lips!
We are also working on perfecting the art of the sippy. Cup that is. We have two different styles and I'm not sure either is just right for the Peanut. One flows freely (I took the valve out per recommendation from Louise the Lactation Goddess from Cape Canaveral) and the other she has to vaccum suck to drink from. But she sure does like trying, as is evident in the photo above! A for effort, or for Ava anyways!
